O atacante Gabigol, do Flamengo, foi suspenso pela Justiça Desportiva Antidopagem até abril de 2025 por ter supostamente dificultado a realização de exames antidoping no centro de treinamento do clube, em abril deste ano. De acordo com as informações divulgadas, os testes de urina e sangue realizados no jogador deram resultado negativo.
Em nota, Gabigol afirmou que nunca tentou obstruir ou fraudar qualquer exame e que confia em ser inocentado. “Estou tranquilo, pois sou inocente. Vou me dedicar ao máximo para que minha verdade venha a tona e possa voltar a jogar o mais rápido possível”, disse o atleta.
O Flamengo, por sua vez, manifestou apoio ao jogador e informou que auxiliará Gabigol na apresentação de um recurso contra a decisão da Justiça Desportiva Antidopagem. “O Clube de Regatas do Flamengo acredita na inocência de Gabigol e fará todo o possível para que ele possa voltar a jogar o mais rápido possível”, afirmou o clube em nota oficial.
A suspensão de Gabigol é um duro golpe para o Flamengo, que contava com o atacante para a temporada. O jogador, que chegou ao clube em 2019, tem sido um dos destaques do time e um dos principais artilheiros do Campeonato Brasileiro nos últimos anos.
A Justiça Desportiva Antidopagem ainda não se pronunciou sobre o recurso que será apresentado pela defesa de Gabigol. O caso deve ser analisado em audiência pública e a decisão final pode levar algum tempo para ser tomada.
